Run Forrest Run!

As I sit here looking out the window, I get cold just thinking about it! You see, the temperature outside right now is 41* and the high today is 42* with a low of 31*. For us Texas people, that's cold!

Over the past couple of years, and more and more as time progresses, I have become a very impulsive person. Not that this is a bad thing and maybe it has always been this way but I think I've gotten worse. Anyways, I had mentioned my urge to join a running group to my sister last week and sometime between then and yesterday afternoon, she got inspired.

She checked with her co-workers to see if their group would be running anytime soon but apparently they've disbanded. She was then referred to the same group I had mentioned and suddenly became more interested. She checked their website, consulted with me and then we signed up for an 11 week training program right there on the spot. We will train two days a week with the group and then train at least 2 days a week on our own in the gym with weights. That's the plan anyways!

So as I sit here looking out my window, I can't help but be a little nervous about our first training session tonight. The weather's cold and there is also rain in our forecast. Being the weenie I am, when it comes to running in the cold, I plan to get out some of my skiing gear and bundle up. I hate the sharp pains I get in my lungs when I run outside in the cold so I plan to wear something I can pull up over my mouth.

Don't mistake my fear for a lack of enthusiasm because I couldn't be more excited about stepping outside my box and joining my first extra curricular activity since high school! I know that this will be an amazing experience and I can't wait to let you know how it goes. Until next time... stay beautiful!
